In your view, is music a man or a woman?
Firstly, in this context, I'd like to refer to music as Carnatic music. For me, music is a woman... It is perhaps got to do with that fact that in French, music is a feminine word.
Could you describe her for us?”
For me, music, the woman, is fierce, demanding, kind, forgiving and compassionate. She would be very old and very young at the same time. She would be woman and man; a perfect balance of both! She would always be moved by necessity and service, and would be dedicated to create beauty and to remind us of what’s true. She would be incredibly generous and patient to anyone who would commit to her in a genuine way and who would have the courage to truly surrender to her. She would also be a very refined and elegant warrior who survived the ages; someone who always managed to adapt to the demands of time, while being very much alive in the present yet constantly on the move, and always rooted in essence.
